  • Dr. Michael Bailey

    Dr. Michael A. Bailey

    Dr. Bailey is a 1998 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.  He grew up in the small town of Wauchula, Florida.  He received his bachelor’s degree in Zoology at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama.  He decided to stay for four more football seasons and attended Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. While at Auburn, he met his wife Dana.  He has previously worked in Destin and Orlando, Florida.  In 2002, he became owner of Woodland Animal Clinic in DeLand, FL.  With his passion in veterinary medicine growing Dr. Bailey would later become owner of two more veterinary offices. Beachwood Animal Clinic in New Smyrna Beach, Fl and Volusia Woods Animal Clinic in Orange City, FL.  He and his wife have beautiful 3 children. On his free time he enjoys fishing, waterskiing, hiking, crossfit, coaching his sons football team, and spending time with his children.  He is involved with the community and is a member of the Rotary Club of downtown DeLand.

  • Dr. Stuart James

    Dr. Stuart James is our associate veterinarian at Woodland Animal Clinic. He is originally from the Jacksonville area. Dr. James and his wife Andrea, also a veterinarian, moved to the area a few years ago to enjoy the beach and avoid the traffic of a larger city.

    Primarily a small animal veterinarian, Dr. James will also see exotic animal species. Special interests include small animal internal medicine. He's had a general interest in science and animals since a young age, which ultimately led to the pursuit of a degree in veterinary medicine. Dr. James obtained a BS in Botany from the University of Florida and later, a doctoral degree in veterinary medicine from Ross School of Veterinary Medicine.

    In his spare time, Dr. James likes to help out around the house and go shopping with his wonderful and loving wife, Andrea. He also enjoys kayaking, fishing and especially a combination of those two activities. He is a huge nerd and enjoys binge watching Netflix and Game of Thrones. Dr. James subscribes to a philosophy of Carpe Diem and believes in living life to its' fullest.

  • Sherica Egan

    Management Staff
    Sherica joined our staff in 2005 and has been in the veterinary field since 2000.
    She has three amazing children and a wonderful husband who keeps her busy outside of work. She has strong family ties so she spends her free time with her siblings and their children.
    Her furry family consists of  rambunctious felines and German shepherd puppy named Stella. Sherica is also responsible for the clinic's most pride possession 'PENELOPE' the office mascot.

  • Kirstin

    Kirsten is a native of the area and went to DeLand High School (Go Bulldogs!!) After seeing what the world had to offer she decided there was no place like home. Her love for veterinary medicine started early, she attained her first job in the veterinary field at the age 16 and joined our team in 2017. She knew this is what she wanted to do in life. Kirsten enjoys spending time with her family, cruising the St Johns River, hunting, fishing, and loving on her menagerie of animals.

  • Katelyn

    Katie joined our staff in August of 2017. She is a Florida native. She grew up in South Florida and moved to DeLand in 2004. She graduated from DeLand High School in 2013 then went on to obtain an AA from Daytona State College.
    She is currently a student at St. Petersburg College where she is working towards a degree in veterinary technology. She has had a passion for animals since she was a small child and has a goal of becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT).
    Katie is passionate, driven, and enthusiastic. In her free time, Katie enjoys art, reading, kayaking, snorkeling, and traveling. She also loves spending time with her family and friends. She is kept busy by her many pets which include a Cardigan Corgi, named Apollo, and a long haired ginger cat, named Muffin.
